The Assistant General Manager is responsible for representing the property’s service commitment to guests, and for implementing and overseeing all operational activities and departments in the hotel in order to maximize revenue, profitability and guest satisfaction. He or she is to perform all tasks according to Ideal Hospitality Investments Inc. The ideal individual for filling this position is a vibrant, “upbeat”, and an outgoing person who can relate to guests appropriately and handle their needs efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

· Brand experience.

· Oversees the day to day operational functions of the hotel.

· Manage profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are surpassed.

· Prepare hotel’s annual Operating Budget and Sales & Marketing Plan.

· Achieve budgeted revenue and goals, balancing cost with guest satisfaction

· Develop property improvement action plans for guest satisfaction as well as cost savings.

· Remain visible and available to greet guests.

· Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company.

· Ensure all policies regarding personnel, security, guest relations, safety, and brand standards

· Perform all other duties as assigned by Corporate Office and/or Ownership.

· Resolve complaints to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality service.

· Provide effective leadership. Develop your team.

· Oversee and manage all departments and work closely with department heads on a daily basis.

· Ensure compliance of brand QA standards.

· Maximize revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management.

· Respond to audits to ensure continual compliance and improvement is achieved

· Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations (internal and external audits).

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Previous Hospitality Management experience of at least 2 years is preferred. Excellent knowledge of computers, word processing, and property management system experience is required.

Concise, clear verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility in work schedule that may include afternoons, nights, weekends and holidays. Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.

Essential Skills

The Ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly intelligent hotel professional with outstanding management skills and extensive hands on experience. Must have ability to handle/resolve guest complaints and/or knowledge/understanding of when and how to direct the guest to receive assistance. Must have ability to professionally represent the hotel, deal positively with the public in person and over the telephone.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write information on status reports and to convey the information easily to designated staff. Ability to interact with the guest at all times to determine guest needs and meet expectations.

Physical Demands

Requires ability to stand for entire shift; walking to a significant degree. Requires ability to move fingers and hands easily and quickly. Must be able to stand and walk for long hours. Overnight travel, at times, may be required by car or airplane. The General Manager must be able to perform all the duties required of the front desk and housekeeping departments. It’s beneficial to understand basic maintenance principals and be able to help in that department as well. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing to guests and members of the front office staff and to answer telephone calls. Requires ability to perform repetitive tasks and multi-task. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds infrequently. Requires ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
Compensation: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
